The JGS3250FAG Molded Circuit Breaker by Eaton Cutler-Hammer is a completely assembled thermal-magnetic circuit breaker in the Series C family of Eaton circuit breakers, which is used for circuit protection in a variety of low-voltage distribution systems. Like all Series G breakers, it is designed around a space-saving footprint in addition to its high-performance protection, and also like all Frame JG breakers with thermal magnetic trip units, it is built for use with HACR-rated appliances. The JGS3250FAG has a continuous current rating of 250 Amps, with a maximum current interrupting limit of 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, and it is rated with 6000 Volts AC maximum voltage across its terminals. It has copper/aluminum pressure terminals supplied as line and load side terminals, with multi-wire connectors on the load terminals for distributing loads across multiple devices without using separate distribution terminal blocks.
The JGS3250FAG has a 3-pole design, and it has an insulated enclosure which houses the internal breaker’s components. It has a fixed thermal and adjustable trip unit type, which provides thermal and instantaneous trip actions by using a load-heated bimetal strip and electromagnets arranged in series with the line load, and its magnetic trip element can be adjusted to up to 10 times the current rating to accommodate a wide range of applications. The JGS3250FAG has a trip-free operating mechanism, which holds the breaker’s contacts open in the event of abnormal current conditions, and which also indicates whether the breaker is tripped, off, or on. The JGS3250FAG, like every Series G breakers, it is designed to meet the IEC, CSA, and UL requirements, and it comes with an average shipping weight of 2.7 kilograms.
