The EGS3020FFG is a 3-pole circuit breaker manufactured by the Eaton Corporation. Its maximum continuous current rating is 20 Amps with an interrupt rating of 18 kAIC at 600 Volts AC. This breaker belongs to the Series G family of Eaton circuit breakers and it provides high-performance overload and short circuit protection for a broad range of equipment in various industrial locations. The operating device of the EGS3020FFG circuit breaker is a toggle type switch and using a padlockable or non-padlockable handle on the EGS3020FFG circuit breaker does not limit its trip performance. This is because its trip mechanism is independent of the switch handle, thereby enabling the breaker to trip if an overload or a short circuit occurs when the switch handle is locked in the on position.
Eaton’s EGS3020FFG circuit breaker consists of a breaker frame, terminals, a circuit breaker, and fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip units. It can be installed in the same circuit with other protective devices and it supports surface or enclosed mounting. When mounted on the surface panelboards, the EGS3020FFG circuit breaker supports zero-stacking with other breakers, thereby increasing the amount of saved space. The thorough and sturdy design of its molded case allows the EGS3020FFG circuit breaker to meet the demands of different environments. However, exposing this circuit breaker to direct sunlight and rainfall or operating it in environments where corrosive gases and vapor are present may significantly reduce its performance. Note that leaving any terminal of the EGS3020FFG circuit breaker loose may result in overheating, arcing, and nuisance tripping.
