The EGB3020FFB is Eaton’s Series G Molded Case Circuit Breaker with an EG Frame. It features 3 poles, which means that this circuit breaker can be used in 3-phase systems. It operates on 80 Amps and 480 Volts AC, and it supports 18 kAIC of interrupting capacity. The module acts like a feed-through device until its thermal-magnetic trip unit detects an overload or short-circuit on any of the lines. If this happens, the EGB3020FFB opens its contacts to protect the electrical circuit with all electrical components and conductors installed. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EGB3020FFB is delivered as a complete molded case circuit breaker with a non-interchangeable trip unit. The terminals installed in the module operate with bolt-on connection. This MCCB is designed for global use and it follows all the global standards written for protective devices. Eaton launched the EG Frame sized circuit breakers with a unification principle in mind. This is very important to the users because unified external dimensions and spare parts are bringing flexibility when it comes to future system adjustments and changes.
The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EGB3020FFB is a 3-pole circuit breaker that is automatically trip-operated. If its thermal-magnetic trip unit detects failure, it will open the main contacts automatically and save the equipment from being damaged. When this kind of reaction happens because of short circuits or an overload, the users are informed of it by the position of the handle. The handle goes into trip position. From this position, it can be moved manually, first to the off position, and then to the on position to reset the device. If the cause of the electrical failure is not cleared, the EGB3020FFB will open its contacts again quickly. This is when the users have to check their installations because the problem was not acute in nature.
