About the MES3800LSG

The Eaton/Westinghouse MES3800LSG is a molded case circuit breaker with an electronic trip unit. The breaker is a type MES circuit breaker and it is part of the Series C product line of molded case circuit breakers from the Eaton Corporation. The MES3800LSG features an interchangeable Digitrip RMS 310 trip unit which supports LSG functions. With these functions, the MES3800LSG has a fixed Long delay both for a fixed amperage rating and an adjustable amperage rating. Additionally, the LSG functions give the MES3800LSG a short delay time with an adjustable short delay pick-up plus an adjustable ground fault pick-up with an adjustable ground fault time. The Eaton MES3800LSG has a minimum and maximum amperage rating of 800 Amps and a maximum voltage of 600 Volts AC. The circuit breaker can either have an MDL, or an HMDL, or a CMDL, or a CHMDL frame type.

Because of the Digitrip 310 trip feature, the circuit breaker also has RMS sensing capabilities and it provides for over-temperature tripping functions. The tripping mechanism for the MES3800LSG provides a long delay thermal memory and a 12 seconds long delay time. For the short delay, the MES3800LSG accommodates a short delay (I2t) of 100 milliseconds. The Eaton MES3800LSG has a ground fault thermal memory and a flat ground fault delay of 500 milliseconds. However, the circuit breaker does not feature ground fault zone selective interlocking or a ground fault alarm. Also, an instantaneous pickup, short delay time zone selective interlocking, flat short delay time, and a high load alarm are not supported by the MES3800LSG molded case circuit breaker.
