The MDL3600 is a 3-Pole Type MDL Cutler-Hammer Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breaker manufactured by the Eaton Corporation. It is rated at 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC maximum operating voltage, 600 Amps, 50 to 60 Hertz, and measures 8 x 10.76 x 18.25 inches. It belongs to the Series-C, M-Frame family of Cutler-Hammer Circuit Breakers. It features high repulsion contacts and it is suitable for reverse feed applications as well as for providing main and branch circuit protection, overload protection, and overcurrent protection for a wide of industrial equipment, conductors, and devices in different environments. The MDL3600 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker features interchangeable trip units and terminals on line and load.
Its operating mechanism is a toggle type switch that also indicates its status as ON, OFF, or TRIPPED. All its components (frame, circuit breaker, terminals, and trip units) are factory assembled but it is compatible for use with the most common Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers and internal and external accessories such as shunt trip units and remote monitoring devices. The MDL3600 circuit breaker supports panel board mounting and it features a glass-polyester casing that resists moisture and the growth of fungus. Terminal shields can be used to protect the terminals if the circuit breaker is to be used in environments that are prone to moisture and frequent activity. To prevent arcing and overheating which might lead to nuisance trips, the MDL3600 circuit breaker must be used with equipment that is within its rating and all 6 terminals must be properly fastened to achieve the best performance.
