About the T2450T

The T2450T is a thermal-magnetic trip unit manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit is part of Series C of the Eaton thermal-magnetic trip unit. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit operates with 450 Amps of current, 2 poles and standard, high, or ultra-high interrupting ratings. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit is contained in Frame L Enclosure. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit is mechanically controlled by a toggle-handle device which is trip-free by the handle to prevent the closing of the circuit breaker contacts during short-circuit currents. The toggle-handle position indicates the short circuits and the tripping of the Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit due to overload, and hence it promotes the safety of the operator. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit features state-of-the-art extinguishing technology and high repulsion contact configuration, making it suitable to serve as a current limiting module. The toggle-handle device will snap into the tripped position when the Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit is tripped by short circuits, overcurrents, shunts, or undervoltage releases.

The toggle-handle device should be placed in the off position, before reclosing the Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit by deploying the trip-out method. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit is applicable in reverse feed applications. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit is equipped with a thermal memory for preventing an immediate restart after an overload trip has occurred to enable the module to cool down. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit also consists of an alarm designed to remotely indicate the operation of an automatic trip. The alarm does not operate manually, but it operates when either the undervoltage release or a shunt trip is operated. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit is equipped with an integrated IR switch which enables the operator to manipulate the continuous current rating of the circuit breaker without replacing a rating plug. This promotes more flexibility in coordinating the Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit. The Cutler-Hammer T2450T Trip Unit is also applicable in 60 Hertz or 50 Hertz applications.
