The LDB3500 is a 3-pole Cutler-Hammer thermal-magnetic circuit breaker manufactured by the Eaton Corporation. It is an L Frame Series C breaker with a rating of 500 Amps, 250 Volts DC, and 600 Volts AC 3-phase power. The Eaton LDB3500 circuit breaker consists of a frame, non-interchangeable trip units, a circuit breaker, an operating mechanism, and terminals which combine to provide overload protection and short-circuit protection as well as equipment control in 3-phase industrial systems. Although the handle used for switching the LDB3500 circuit breaker performs a dual function as the switch and indicator, the circuit breaker's trip-free operation allows it to trip while the handle is locked in the on position if the breaker is used in applications that require the use of padlockable and non-padlockable handle locks or key interlock.
It supports the use of terminal end covers which are especially useful for added protection in applications such as motor control centers due to confined space mounting. The LDB3500 circuit breaker provides an easy way to regularly test its functionality via its push-to-trip button that can be operated with a screwdriver, and more electrical clearance between its poles can be provided by installing interphase barriers between the 3 poles. The LDB3500 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker can be reclosed easily after a trip-out, provided the fault is identified and rectified, and the switch must be moved to the reset position before being put back in the on position to close the circuit. Failure to rectify the problem before attempting to turn the device back on can lead to equipment damage or to injury to the users.
Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPNs) are often difficult to read. Here are some commonly mistaken versions for the LDB3500:
