The LDB2600 Molded Case Circuit Breaker by Eaton Cutler-Hammer is a completely factory assembled circuit in the Frame L series of multipurpose circuit breakers with non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip units, and it is used for short-circuit and overload protection. This device is used in most low-voltage distribution systems, protecting conductors, motors, motor starters, and connected devices, and it is assembled with load and line side terminals for easy field wiring. The LDB2600 is a 600 Amps rated circuit breaker, with 35 KAIC of maximum interrupt rating at 480 Volts AC, and is designed for 250 Volts DC or 600 Volts AC grounded and ungrounded systems. It has copper/aluminum conductors supplied as standard terminals (2TA603LDK), with an average wire size of 185 by 240 millimeters square, and is UL and CSA rated to meet the nominal current requirements.
The LDB2600 has a thermal-magnetic trip unit that is closed to further adjustments, and which provides thermal and magnetic trip actions. It uses a bimetal strip heated by a load current, and which deflects on prolonged overloads for thermal trip action, and it uses an electromagnet in series with the current load for instantaneous magnetic trip action. A trip-free, quick make/break operating mechanism is designed so that the contacts cannot be held closed against an abnormal circuit condition and it is used to open and close the breaker’s contacts, and also to indicate whether the circuit breaker is tripped, off, or on. The LDB2600 has an operating temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius, and a maximum operating altitude of 6000 feet without de-rating. It weighs approximately 8.2 kilograms (including the terminals), and it has total shipping dimensions of 209.6 x 273.1 x 103.1 millimeters.
