About the KT2225T

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer KT2225T is a trip unit with 2 poles that can be installed in C Series molded case circuit breakers with K Frames. It is applicable for 225 Amps rated systems and it satisfies the UL-489 standard requirements. The Eaton KT2225T is an interchangeable trip unit that has a thermal element with the time delay on the overload and an adjustable magnetic trip that offers protection against short circuits. The KT2225T trip unit is calibrated at 40 degrees Celsius and its housing is factory sealed to disable the tampering option. This calibrated nominal device current that the trip unit can carry continuously is marked on the nameplate of the trip unit. Note that according to the NEC requirements, protective devices like molded case circuit breakers should not be loaded with more than 80% of the nominal current rating.

The users should not connect cables to the MCCB or supply it with the power until they install the KT2225T into it. Inspect the trip unit for visible signs of damage before integrating it with the circuit breaker frame. On the load side of the frame, remove the plastic protective covers and push the trip unit upwards until the trip unit is correctly seated in the base. Check the latch bracket pin. It should be properly placed in its slots. To position the trip unit easily, the users can push the circuit breaker lever to the closed position. To finish the installation process, use a hexagonal-head wrench to screw in and tighten the retaining screws of the trip unit (the screws on both poles). Put protective plastic barriers on the trip unit.
