About the KDC3250

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer KDC3250 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a completely assembled circuit breaker with a thermal-magnetic trip unit, designed to provide robust protection against current overload and short-circuit in most low voltage applications. This circuit breaker is designed for applications requiring ultra-high interrupting current limiting capacity and is rated for use with Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning appliances. The KDC3250 has a continuous current rating of 250 Amps with an ultra-high (very high) current interrupting capacity of 100 Kilo-Amp Interrupting Capacity (KAIC) at 480 Volts and is designed for applications with 600 Volt AC maximum operating voltage. It comes with a 3-pole wiring suitable for both one and three phase systems, and standard load and line side terminals with terminal cover for each pole wiring.

The KDC3250’s trip unit can be adjusted to suit application needs and it provides both thermal and magnetic trip action. It provides thermal trip action using bimetal strip heated by load current, which will deflect upon sustained overload, and it also provides magnetic trip using an electromagnet in series with load current, and this trip action can be adjusted to up to 10 times the nominal rating. The KDC3250 is designed to optimally function under a relative humidity range of 0 to 95%, and it has a designated temperature limit of 40 degree Celsius. The KDC3250 like all Eaton Cutler Hammer circuit breakers is designed to meet British Standard (BS), Australian Standard (AS), IEC, and Under-Writer Licence standard (UL). It weighs about 5.2 kilograms and has a shipping volume of 149.7 x 257.3 x 104.1 millimeters.
