About the KD4300

The Eaton KD4300 is a Series C complete molded case circuit breaker. The breaker uses a fixed thermal and a fixed magnetic mechanism in its trip unit. The thermal part of the tripping mechanism is time-conscious and it decides how long the KD4300 circuit breaker should take to respond to the surge in the circuit’s current. The magnetic aspect of the tripping formula trips the breaker without delay in the presence of large spikes in the current. Additionally, the tripping mechanism supports both Long-Time and Instantaneous functions. The KD4300 has its maximum operating voltage capped at 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC. For the amperage, the circuit breaker has a maximum rated current of 300 Amps.

With its 4 poles, the KD4300 complete circuit breaker is specifically designed to provide protection in systems that are operated from a 3-phase power sources. The KD4300, as with other molded case circuit breakers, is meant to also provide protection for low-voltage distribution circuits. In these circuits, the KD4300 guards the circuit against short circuits, current spikes, and overloads. The KD4300 can be used both in switchboards and in panelboards. When using a molded case circuit breaker such as the KD4300 for motor protection, it has to be interfaced with overload protection devices. The interrupt rating for the KD4300 circuit breaker is 65 and 35 kAIC at 240 and 480 Volts AC, respectively. The KD2250 contains line and load side terminals. The terminals are made from aluminum and the wires used should either be made from aluminum or copper.
