About the KD3125

The KD3125 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker from Cutler-Hammer, a division of Eaton/Westinghouse. The circuit breaker has a K frame and an amperage rating of 125 Amps. The KD3125 can be used in 250 Volts DC and in 600 Volts AC systems. The circuit breaker also features a high-speed blow-open action and it belongs to the C Series, which includes a wide range of circuit breakers from Eaton/Westinghouse. These C Series Eaton/Westinghouse/Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers, including the KD3125, are purposely manufactured for use in industrial electrical circuits. Additionally, the circuit breaker is also suitable for use with machinery OEMs that are used in a wide range of applications on the industrial floor.

The Eaton/Westinghouse KD3125 circuit breaker uses a fixed thermal and a fixed magnetic trip unit that has LI-Long-Time and Instantaneous functions. These functions specify how the KD3125 responds to short circuits, whether it reacts instantly or after a prolonged period of time. The circuit breaker belongs to the Eaton/Westinghouse molded case circuit breaker product line. The KD3125 is suitably conditioned to provide protection to circuits using a 3-phase power source. The maximum rated operating ambient temperature for the KD3125 stands at 40 degrees Celsius. The KD3125 has 10 kAIC of interrupt rating at 250 Volts DC, 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, and 65 kAIC of interrupt rating at 240 Volts AC. Note that when protecting a DC circuit at 250 Volts DC, the KD3125 circuit breaker has a minimum time constant of 3 milliseconds at 10 KiloAmps.
