About the KD2400

The KD2400 is a Cutler-Hammer (a division of the Eaton Corporation) molded case circuit breaker from C Series. Its current rating is 400 Amps and it is delivered in a KD frame sized housing. Users should know the type of distribution system they have and how the KD2400 should be applied in their systems. This information is needed to see if the 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC rating of this MCCB fits their needs. These values are the maximum voltages that can be applied across the device’s terminals. This molded case circuit breaker has 2 poles. It has an interrupting capacity of 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC and 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. The KD2400 is usually installed in panelboards and switchboards where it is fixed or mounted. This MCCB has 4 integral parts – contacts, a molded case (KD frame), a trip unit, and an operating mechanism. The operational quality of the device is temperature-dependent.

When the device is operated at temperatures lower than 40 degrees Celsius (the maximum calibration temperature), the breaker will be able to carry more current than its nameplate’s current rating.
