About the JDB3100W

The Cutler-Hammer/Westinghouse JDB3100W is a J-frame molded case circuit breaker. The breaker uses a fixed thermal fixed magnetic tripping mechanism. The JDB3100W has 3 poles and it is manufactured for use with a 3-phase power circuit. The JDB3100W is different from other Eaton J-framed circuit breakers because in has no load and line terminals. The circuit breaker is factory sealed and it does not support the field installation of internal components including the trip unit. This makes it suitable to be used for reverse feed use. Under the UL 489 standards, the JDB3100W has interrupt ratings of 18, 35, and 65 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at voltages of 600, 480, and 240 Volts AC.

Additionally, the JDB3100W has an interrupt capacity of 10 Kilo Amps when securing circuits operating from a 250 Volts DC power source. When protecting AC circuits, the JDB3100W has a maximum rated voltage of 600 Volts AC, and the rated voltage is 250 Volts DC when protecting DC-powered circuits. The circuit breaker falls under Series C of the Cutler-Hammer molded case circuit breakers which have an operating frequency of between 50 and 60 Hertz. The JDB3100W does not offer the option of purchasing constituent parts and it is purchased as a complete breaker. The Eaton JDB3100W has an amperage rating of 100 Amps and it is certified by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL). The circuit breaker measures 4.06 inches in length, 4.13 inches in height, and 4.13 inches in width. With such compact measurements, the JDB3100W occupies a smaller area on the panelboard. Having a J-frame circuit breaker, the JDB3100W uses copper or aluminum for its terminals.
