About the JDB3100

The JDB3100 is a Series C circuit breaker designed and manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The breaker has an amperage rating of 100 Amps, it has 3 poles, and it is 3 phased. The JDB3100 can comfortably handle a voltage that does not exceed 600 Volts AC. The circuit breaker provides options to interface it with a shunt trip and an undervoltage release. The JDB3100 contains terminals on both the line and load sides. The terminals provide wire connecting capabilities for specific ranges of continuous current ratings and wire types. The circuit breaker uses a fixed thermal fixed magnetic trip unit. The JDB3100 weighs 9 pounds, making it light enough to be mounted on a panel.

The Westinghouse JDB3100 has a rated voltage of 600 Volts AC. The interrupt rating for the JDB3100 as defined in the UL 489 standards stands at 65 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 240 Volts AC, 18 Kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 600 Volts AC, and at 10,000 Kilo Amps Interrupt Capacity at 250 Volts DC. The circuit breaker has a molded case which is resistant to moisture. The JDB3100 exceeds the specifications defined by IEEE. Additionally, as with other C Series molded case circuit breakers, the JDB3100 has a high-speed blow action. Note that the JDB3100 has a J-Frame, allowing it to be purchased as either a complete breaker which is factory sealed or as individual parts (terminals, trip unit, and frame). When ordered as individual parts, the JDB3100 can support field replacement of faulty parts but the breaker cannot be used for reverse feed use.
