The Eaton Cutler-Hammer JD3250 is a molded case circuit breaker. This MCCB belongs to the C Series and its current rating is 250 Amps. The maximum operating voltages for this module are 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC. The JD3250 is used to protect electrical equipment in industrial surroundings by combining a temperature-sensitive mechanism and a current sensitive electromagnetic mechanism. If any of those internal mechanisms detect values beyond the defined protection level, they will produce a mechanical reaction on the trip mechanism. In this way, the power contacts are disengaged and the equipment and installations behind the device are protected from damage.
The Eaton Cutler-Hammer JD3250 protects equipment from thermal overloads, short circuits, and ground faults. It is a module with an interchangeable trip unit. The Eaton JD3250 has frame dimensions of 150 millimeters x 257 millimeters x 104 millimeters (5.5 inches x 10.1 inches x 4.1 inches). The users need to keep the ambient air temperature below 40 degrees Celsius in the electrical cabinets where they want to install this device. Install this MCCB on a DIN rail. On the front side of this module, users will see the handle which can be found either in the “ON”, “OFF”, or “TRIP” position. The JD3250 transfers power to its output only when the handle is in the “ON” position. Circuit breaker frames, trip units, lugs, and accessories for this device can be ordered separately. If users want to remove the cover to replace it or to access to other subcomponents, they must first place the handle on the MCCB in the “TRIP” or “OFF” position.
