About the HJD3175

The Eaton HJD3175 is a 3-pole HJD-type circuit breaker. It has 175 Amps of current rating with voltage ratings of 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC. The interrupt ratings for the HJD3175 are 100 kAIC and 65 kAIC at 240 and 480 Volts AC, respectively. The frequency ratings are 50 to 60 Hertz. The HJD3175 is certified by UL labs. The HJD3175 comes in a J Frame. Its weight is 5.67 kilograms. The following are dimensions of the HJD3175: 103.1 millimeters in length, 254 millimeters in height, and 104.9 millimeters in depth. The HJD3175 comes with load and line terminals which are made of aluminum. The recommended conductor types are copper or aluminum with 4 to 350 MCM AWG and 31 N-m of torque. When an aluminum conductor is used, the use of a joint compound is recommended to prevent the terminals from overheating (which can lead to intermittent tripping and/or breaker damage).

The HJD3175 is a complete breaker and it comes with a changeable magnetic thermal tripping module. The HJD3175 is designed to provide many years of maintenance-free operation. However, periodic maintenance is recommended. During maintenance, the beaker should be powered off and the work area should be cleared of voltage. The cleaning agent that is used should be one that does not damage the breaker in any way. The following checks should be carried out during maintenance: moisture, grease, and dirt should be removed, breaker connectors and terminals should be inspected for evidence of overheating, the breaker should be switched on and off few times to check whether the mechanical linkages are free or not, and the breaker installation area should be checked for safety hazards.
