The GHB1070 is a single-pole Type GHB Thermal-Magnetic Cutler-Hammer Circuit Breaker with non-interchangeable trip units that is manufactured by Eaton. The ratings of this breaker are 277/480 Volts AC or 125 Volts DC, 70 Amps, and 50 to 60 Hertz. It belongs to the Series C G Frame family of molded case circuit breakers by Eaton and it provides reliable overcurrent, short circuit, and overload protection for a broad range of conductors and connected equipment in low-voltage distribution systems. Eaton's GHB1070 circuit breaker features a simple switching mechanism and its direction also indicates the state of the circuit breaker as on or off. Its load end features a terminal that supports bolt-on-bus mounting and its load side features a screw-clamp terminal for easily connecting conductors.
The GHB1070 breaker supports the use of many Series C circuit breaker accessories that can be adapted to improve its functionality, including individual enclosures that can increase its environmental ratings as well as an undervoltage release mechanism. The thermal-magnetic element available on the GHB1070 circuit breaker senses the heat resulting from overload and other fault conditions that last longer than its fixed configuration and trips the breaker and the magnetic element instantaneously trips the breaker when the preset fault current is present in the circuit. The GHB1070 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker offers smooth operation without nuisance trips as long as the load remains within the ratings specified by its manufacturer. Care must be taken to fasten both terminals properly in order to avoid arcing, which may result in overheating, nuisance trips, and downtime.
