The GD3030 is a 3-pole Type GD Cutler-Hammer thermal-magnetic circuit breaker manufactured by the Eaton Corporation. It belongs to the Series C, G-Frame family of Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers and it has non-interchangeable trip units. The GD3030 circuit breaker is rated at 30 Amps at 40 degrees Celsius continuous current, 480 Volts AC, or 250 Volts DC maximum voltage, 50 to 60 Hertz frequency, and 22 kiloamps at 480 Volts interrupting capacity. It weighs 0.907 kilograms and measures 4 inches x 3.8 inches x 6.6 inches. Like all Series-C molded case circuit breakers, the GD3030 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker offers state-of-the-art control, overload, and circuit protection capabilities. It is built from high-repulsion material and insulated so that it can be used for many years without the need for maintenance or replacement, provided it is used within its rating under suitable conditions.
The GD3030 circuit breaker features 6 terminals (3 on each end) for line and load conductors and mounting hardware. It can be mounted on a panel board or in different NEMA Type enclosures and it can be tweaked to meet specific requirements by leveraging the most common internal and external accessories that are available for most Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers. The switch handle of the GD3030 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker indicates the on, off, or tripped status of the GD3030 and acts as its operating mechanism. In the event of a trip resulting from an overload or some other fault, it is advisable to resolve all the problems that caused the trip before resetting the GD3030 and closing the circuit. Upon tripping, the GD3030 circuit breaker must be manually reset before resuming operation.
