About the GD2020

The GD2020 is a complete molded case circuit breaker from Series C of the molded case circuit breakers by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. These circuit breakers are mainly used to protect electrical components in a bigger system from current overloads, short circuits, and other current and power related irregularities. The Series C circuit breakers are designed to serve as a circuit protection solution for low-voltage distribution systems. These protective devices, the molded case circuit breakers, in particular, are designed with certain standards in mind, so they meet the requirements of the UL 489 standards by Underwriter Laboratories Inc., the NEMA standards, and other standards such as the British, Australian, Canadian, and International standards for molded circuit breakers. Besides molded case switches/circuit breakers, the Cutler-Hammer offers circuit breakers such protectors for motor circuits, thermal magnetic trip breakers, electronic RMS trip breakers, and breakers for special applications.

The GD2020 model of a circuit breaker has an interrupt rating of 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and one of 14 kAIC at 480 Volts AC and a voltage rating of 480 Volts AC or 125 or 250 Volts DC. Its frequency rating is 50 to 60 Hertz while the output amperage of the GD2020 circuit breaker is 20 Amps. This circuit protection device features the GD breaker type, fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip unit types and only 2 poles. The GD2020 circuit breaker has a G frame and it is extremely compact with dimensions that include 6.98 centimeters (2.75 inches) of length, 6.35 centimeters (2.5 inches) of height, and 6.35 centimeters (2.5 inches) of width. The product’s weight is only 1.37 pounds or 0.6 kilograms. Usually, the Series C circuit breakers operate in ambient temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius but they can be specially calibrated to withstand more drastic temperatures. These circuit breakers and other devices from this series are tested for use in extremely low temperatures and some of these devices can be used for marine applications, such as those with E and R frames. By default, all of these circuit breakers are molded from a glass-polyester material that is resistant to the growth of fungus.
