The HFD1050 is a thermal-magnetic breaker that is mainly applied to electric current distribution systems. This breaker belongs to the Eaton Cutler-Hammer Series C product line of circuit breakers. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HFD1050 thermal-magnetic breaker operates at an amperage rating of 50 Amps at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is higher than the calibration temperature, the breaker will need a new calibration process. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HFD1050 thermal-magnetic breaker, like any other thermal-magnetic breaker, is highly affected by high temperatures and that is the reason why it is recommended to install it in an enclosure with an excellent ventilation system. The breaker could be derated if it is used within an enclosure with poor heat dissipation.
The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HFD1050 thermal-magnetic breaker has a single pole and it operates with a frequency of 50 to 60 Hertz and a voltage of 347 Volts AC and 125 Volts DC. This breaker includes terminals on the load side only and it includes the complete breaker. Breakers like the Eaton Cutler-Hammer HFD1050 thermal-magnetic breaker are used in applications where quick detection of problems is required, and the speed of the interruption of a magnet is considerably higher than that of any other type of breakers. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HFD1050 thermal-magnetic breaker is also a multiple time device, meaning that it can detect short circuits and ground faults and perform a tripping action and it can be set back into operations immediately after having cleared and corrected the fault. Circuit breakers perform a tripping action whenever they sense an abnormal condition that can cause a potential hazard.
Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPNs) are often difficult to read. Here are some commonly mistaken versions for the HFD1050:
