About the FDC2175

The Eaton FDC2175 is a complete molded case circuit breaker. This module belongs to the FDC Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers Class with non-interchangeable trip units produced by the Eaton Corporation, formerly known as Cutler-Hammer. The FDC2175 is used to cut off the electric supply when an excessive current is detected. The device has 2 poles, and it is applicable to systems connected to 600 Volts AC (50 to 60 Hertz) or to 250 Volts DC voltage sources. The current rating of the FDC2175 is 175 Amps. When users purchase the device, they should check the completeness of the MCCB before installing it. Do not install the device if there is any visible damage to the module. The thermal protection feature of the device will respond to the heat emerging with currents that are higher than the current limit of the device.

The thermal trip occurs with a time delay in response to overloading. This is for the purpose of filtering the short-term current peaks which can normally occur with some types of equipment. When there is a short circuit or a ground fault, the magnetic protection trips instantaneously. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FDC2175 circuit breaker supports reverse feed usage. It has a highly-isolated plastic housing. The weight of the MCCB is 2 pounds (0.91 kilograms). The module is UL listed and it satisfies the (P1) requirements of the International Electrotechnical Commission Recommendation 157-1 standards. This F-Frame sized circuit breaker is factory-sealed. Its installation procedure consists of connecting and torqueing the line and load terminals. Before that, the circuit breaker should be attached to the mounting panel over the pre-drilled holes.
