The Cutler-Hammer Eaton FDC2100 is a Series C Molded Case Circuit Breaker. This circuit breaker has a 100 Amps trip rating and it combines thermal and magnetic protection mechanisms to provide a fast trip response. It has fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip reactions to overcurrents and short-cuts. This is a 2-pole circuit breaker with dimensions of 2.75 inches x 6.00 inches x 3.38 inches (69.9 millimeters x 152.4 millimeters x 85.7 millimeters). The FDC2100 includes terminals on the load side only. This F Frame complete circuit breaker can be used to protect circuitry with a 600 Volts AC voltage rating or with a 250 Volts DC voltage rating.
Users can operate the FDC2100 circuit breaker over the circuit breaker handle. Users can also test the operation of the device with the “push-to-trip” button. If users take a close look at the handle, they will see that it has 3 positions. Two positions are marked with raised lettering to indicate the “on” and “off” positions. When the handle is situated between these 2 positions, it means that the device is in the “trip” position. There is also a color-coded strip for each circuit breaker state: red for the “off” state, green for the “on” state, and white for the tripped position. The interrupting capacity of the FDC2100 is 100 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. Although the nominal current rating of the module is 100 Amps, users must note that the operating characteristics of the circuit breaker can vary depending on the ambient temperature. The 100 Amps value is calibrated at 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit).
Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPNs) are often difficult to read. Here are some commonly mistaken versions for the FDC2100:
