The F-frame Eaton FD4100 is an FD circuit breaker which belongs to Eaton Series C circuit breakers. It is certified by Underwriters Labs and is therefore sealed at the factory after installation of all relevant accessories. Accessory installation can be carried out in the field at locations where the local codes and regulation allow the practice. The current rating for the FD4100 is around 100 Amps. The circuit breaker can operate with a line frequency of around 50 to 60 Hertz. The circuit breaker rating for AC voltage is around 600 Volts AC while 250 Volts DC is the DC voltage rating. Kiloamps interrupting capacity ratings for the FD4100 are 18000, 35000 and 65000 at 600, 480 and 240 Volts AC, respectively. The FD4100 is a circuit breaker with four poles and includes steel terminals only on the load side. 2.5 to 50 millimeters squared copper/aluminum wire is recommended for termination. The aluminum wire should be used in conjunction with a joint solution to prevent overheating of the terminal. The tripping is managed by a thermal/magnetic trip unit.
Eaton very strongly makes the following recommendations which should be followed during circuit breaker installation/maintenance; the breaker must be switched off and voltages should be absent from working area and the connecting electrical equipment must also be switched off. The FD4100 is available as an F-frame circuit breaker with a height at 6 inches, a depth of 3.38 inches, and a width of 5.5 inches. The weight of the circuit breaker is approximately 6 kilograms.
