About the FD4090

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FD4090 Circuit Breaker is a complete assembled circuit in the Series C family of Molded Case circuit breakers with non-interchangeable trip used for short and overload protection in most low voltage systems. It has a 4-pole wiring designed to accommodate a variety of wiring option, and it also comes with a load side only Copper/Aluminium pressure terminals, which provide easy field wiring. The FD4090 has 90 Amps nominal circuit rating, with a maximum interrupt rating of 35 KAIC at 480 Volt AC, and it suitable for a wide variety of applications with 600 Volt AC/250 Volt DC maximum line input voltage.

The FD4090 comes with 4 load end Copper/Aluminium pressure terminals and terminal covers, and each terminal is connected to a pole. The FD4090 trip unit is of a fixed thermal-magnetic type, which offers a fast acting thermal trip action using bimetal, which deflects upon prolonged current overload, and an electromagnet arranged in a series with line load, which provides instantaneous magnetic trip action when the line current exceeds the designated value. The operating mechanism holds contacts open when there is an overload, and it also indicates whether the breaker is ON, OFF, or Tripped. All non-electronic trip unit Eaton Cutler Hammer circuit breakers, including the FD4090, are 80% rated and are designed to operate below a temperature limit of 40 degree Celsius. The FD4090 has a net weight of 2.7 kilograms, with a total mounting volume of 139.7 x 152.4 x 86.0 millimeters. The FD4090 is also UL, CSA, and IEC certified.
