About the FD4020

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FD4020 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker with a non-interchangeable trip unit, which provides protection against shorted circuit and current overload in most low voltage distribution applications. This circuit breaker has 4 pole wiring design, suitable for 3-phase and reverses feed applications, and it comes with a load only designed terminal suitable for fast and easy wiring process. It has a continuous current rating of 20 Amps, designed for 600 Volt AC or 250 Volt DC circuit, and it provides 35 KAIC maximum interrupting rating at 480 Volt AC line input. Like all circuit breaker in its series, it is designed with a load only terminals, which provide simple wiring, and it and it has a non-adjustable thermal and magnetic trip unit, which provide fast and effective trip action in the event of short-circuit or overload.

The FD4020 consist of 3 major components (trip unit, operating mechanism, arc extinguisher), which combines to provide excellent protection. The trip unit consists of bimetal and electromagnetic, [which provide very fast acting trip action when there is overload or very high current in the circuit, and the operating mechanism provides means of operating the circuit breaker contact. The arc extinguisher, made of DE-ION arc, provide separation between arc drawn between opening breaker contacts. The FD4020 has 40 degrees Celsius designated operating temperature limit, and a non-corrosive/non-condensing relative humidity range of 5 to 95%. It has a net weight of 2.7 Kilograms (6.0 Pounds), with a net dimension of 139.7 x 152.4 x 86.0 millimeters (5.5 x 6.0 x 3.38 inches), and it is AS, BS, IEC, SEV, and UL certified.
