The Eaton (Cutler-Hammer) FD3100 is a three-pole circuit breaker. It is a molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) from the C Series of products, rated at 100 Amps. It can be used to protect electrical equipment with a maximum supply voltage of 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC. On the device, users will find the knob for adjusting the trip settings. This feature provides users with the ability to fine-tune the protection for their systems according to the actual site conditions. As a measurement for the ability of the FD3100 MCCB to withstand a short circuit or overload, it has tested ratings of 25 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 18 kAIC at 600 Volts AC, and 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. Circuit breakers with a large current capacity, like the FD3100, are used mainly in industrial applications. Do not install it in the circuit if its kAIC rating is too low for the application or the device may fail to protect the circuit from damage if it is overloaded.
The FD3100 includes load side terminals only. It is built-up to break the electrical flow when the preprogrammed current limit has been reached. It is a proven energy-efficient solution that can protect the users’ equipment, and considering that this is a high-current operating device, it is a cost-effective operating device too. Its weight is approximated at 4.3 pounds (1.95 kilograms). This is an F-frame device and its dimensions are 4.13 x 6.00 x 3.38 inches (104.3 x 152.4 x 85.7 millimeters). The FD3100 is approved by the IEC and it complies with the UL standards.
Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPNs) are often difficult to read. Here are some commonly mistaken versions for the FD3100:
