The FD2225 is a Series C molded case circuit breaker from Cutler-Hammer. It has two poles. The physical dimensions of the circuit breaker are 2.75 inches (70 millimeters) in width, 6 inches (152 millimeters) in height, and 3.375 inches (86 millimeters) in depth. The shipping weight is about 3 pounds (1.361 kilograms). The lightweight circuit breaker protects the users’ electrical appliances from the permanent damage caused by excessive currents that can occur at any time. The UL486 interrupting capacity rating of the FD2225 circuit breaker is 65,000 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 25,000 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, 18,000 Kaic at 600 Volts AC at 50/60 Hertz frequency.
The DC interrupting capacity rating is 10,000 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. The minimum time for these rating is 3 milliseconds at 10 kA and the maximum time is 8 milliseconds at 22 kA. The DC rating of the FD2225 is only applicable for large non-inductive circuits. The trip current rating of this molded case F-frame circuit breaker is 225 Amps. Similarly, the maximum continuous current rating at 40 degrees Celsius is also 225 Amps. This two-poled FD2225 circuit breaker operates with maximum voltage ratings of 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC with 25 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. The high quality and superior performance of the FD2225 is certified by numerous international agencies such as the Australian Standard AS2184, the British Standard Institution Standard BS 4752, the Canadian Standards Association Standards C22.2 No 5 Service Entrance, the Branch circuit breakers, and so on.
