The FD1050 is a thermal magnetic circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker is part of Series C of the FD type of molded case circuit breakers. The Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker feature 50 Amps of current rating, 277 Volts AC voltage at 50 to 60 Hertz, a standard pressure load terminal, 25 kAIC at 277 Volts AC, 10 kAIC at 125 Volts DC, and 25 kAIC at 220 to 240 Volts AC, and a single pole. The Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker is enclosed in a Frame F type of enclosure. The Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker is equipped with plug-in adapters which simplify the process of installing and removing the front of the circuit breaker. The Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker features a motor operator mechanism which allows for the easy manipulation of the circuit breaker that is locally and remote switching to the on or off position. The motor operator provides several voltages to fit the users’ needs. The standard load can be transferred from the Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker to another FD type of circuit breaker by deploying the mechanical interlock and motor operator.
The motor operator mechanism has a motor that connects to a cam-drive device. The cam-drive device drives the slide mechanism to control the Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker’s handle. The motor operator mechanism is operated by an internal limit switch and a relay to prevent over-driving the handle and the motor overload status. The Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker is also equipped with a special pull-out locking mechanism that offers a means of padlocking the Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker handle in the off position. The visual status of the Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker is provided by the cover that is tripped, on, or off status. The users can trip the Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker manually by using the push-to-trip button. The Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker cannot be locked when the undervoltage release is not energized. The Cutler-Hammer FD1050 circuit breaker will only perform an idle switching operation when the undervoltage release mechanism is not energized.
