The Cutler-Hammer FD1010 is a Series C one-pole complete molded case circuit breaker. This is a Type FD thermal-magnetic circuit breaker with a non-interchangeable trip unit. It has a fixed thermal and a fixed magnetic trip. The current rating of this MCCB is 10 Amps. This current should be around 20% greater than the application’s current consumption or this device cannot fully protect the electronic devices it is attached to. The item can be connected to 277 Volts AC voltage or 250 Volts DC voltage. The interrupting capacity of the FD1010 depends on the voltage being used. The interrupting capacity is 35 kAIC at 277 Volts AC and 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. The Eaton FD1010 is usually a part of commercial and industrial panelboards, motor control centers, and switchboards.
The FD1010 has a handle in the middle of the front panel that indicates the status of the contacts. If the handle is in the “on” position, then the current is transferred from the input to the output of the MCCB. When there is a trip situation, this handle automatically goes to the “trip” position and the current flow to the output is discontinued. Users must reset this device manually or install an automated device on it as an option. The FD1010 MCCB has a length of 3.38 inches (86 millimeters), a height of 6.00 inches (152 millimeters), and a width of 1.38 inches (35 millimeters). The FD1010 thermal magnetic circuit breaker has been tested and listed by UL. It has F frame housing with a high dielectric strength to house the tripping mechanism and terminals. In case of an overcurrent or short-circuit, this device provides automatic and instantaneous circuit breaking. The item weighs 2.0 pounds (0.9 kilograms).
Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPNs) are often difficult to read. Here are some commonly mistaken versions for the FD1010:
