About the EHD3045

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EHD3045 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a complete breaker unit in the Frame F Series C family of completely assembled breakers with non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip units and it is used for main or branch circuit protection in a variety of low-voltage distribution systems. This circuit breaker comes with a 3-pole wiring design that is suitable for 3-phase applications, and it comes with 3 line and load end terminals that are supplied as standard features. The EHD3045 is built for 600 Volts AC/250 Volts DC circuits, and it has a nominal current rating of 45 Amps with a maximum interrupting rating of 65 kAIC. Like all factory-assembled units, the EHD3045 comes with 3 standard line and load side copper/aluminum steel pressure terminals, a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit, an operating mechanism, and a sealed enclosure made of insulation material.

Its terminal has a 14 by 10 AWG wire range with protective terminal covers, and each pole must be connected to a terminal. Its trip unit is of the thermal and magnetic type which provides fast-acting thermal trip action through load-heated bimetal strips that will deflect upon a prolonged overload. There is also an instantaneous magnetic trip action that is provided by using electromagnets in series with a line current which provides instantaneous trip action when the line current exceeds the designated value. The EHD3045 has an operating mechanism, which not only prevents the breaker contacts from being held closed in abnormal circuit conditions, but also indicates whether the breaker is on, off, or tripped. The EHD3045 is UL, CSA, and CE-certified, and it weighs approximately 2.0 kilograms.
