The Eaton EDS2110 is a Series C molded case circuit breaker. It is a complete breaker with a built-in magnetic–thermal trip module which is non-interchangeable. The 2-pole EDS2110’s specifications are 240 Volts AC and 125 Volts DC power, 110 Amps of current, and 42 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. Its frequency specifications are 50 to 60 Hertz. To avoid potential equipment damage and injury for installers, the manufacturer’s recommendation is to carry out the installation with the circuit breaker in the off position. It is also recommended to ensure that the working area is clear of high voltages. Other electrical equipment nearby should also be powered off. The F-frame EDS2110 is HACR rated. It is also well-suited for reverse feed operation. The weight of the EDS2110 is approximately 3 pounds. The dimensions of the EDS2110 are 152 millimeters in height, 69.9 millimeters in width, and 85.7 millimeters in depth.
The manual operation of the EDS2110 is controlled by the circuit breaker handle and the push-to-trip button. After tripping occurs, the breaker is reset by moving the breaker handle to extreme off position. However, when a thermal trip occurs, the breaker cannot be reset until the thermal element has cooled sufficiently. The tripping function can be checked by the use of the push-to-trip button which is used to periodically operate the tripping mechanism. Series C breakers such as the EDS2110 are designed for years of trouble-free operation. However, inspection and maintenance as per a periodic schedule are recommended to check for indications of breaker damage and deterioration which could prevent the breaker from operating according to its specifications.
