The ED3020 is a molded case circuit breaker with non-interchangeable trip units that belongs to the F Frame product line of Series C of the molded case circuit breakers. This breaker is manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer ED3020 molded case circuit breaker with non-interchangeable trip units features 3 poles that are connected through common parts and these features a thermal-magnetic mechanism. This mechanism offers 2 kinds of detections. One of them is performed by means of a bimetal strip that reacts against the temperature generated by the current and the other one is performed by the means of an electromagnet. Once the trips have detected a short circuit through these methods, these are going to perform a tripping action, impeding the abnormal current from affecting the whole circuit, system, or the equipment attached.
The Eaton Cutler-Hammer ED3020 molded case circuit breaker with non-interchangeable trip units operates with a maximum continuous amperage rating of 20 Amps at 40 degrees Celsius. This amperage rating can be affected if the circuit breaker is exposed to excessive heat. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer ED3020 molded case circuit breaker with non-interchangeable trip units has a voltage line class of 240 Volts AC or 125 Volts DC maximum. This breaker is suitable for reverse use. If the users want to include the breaker in an enclosure, it needs to be one that has a good ventilation system. Slow heat dissipation can affect the performance of the breaker enormously. If the breaker is going to be exposed to slow heat dissipation or higher air ambient temperatures than it is rated for, its maximum ampere rating must be derated.
